• Please arrive at the studio about 30 minutes prior to the start of class so that you can complete paper work and get acquainted with the locker rooms and the studio itself. I always find that I have the best results when I allot about fifteen minutes in the hot room before the start of class.

• Wear something light and comfortable.

Men: wear some sort of swim wear, spandex shorts, or running shorts with a liner.

Women: wear fitted shorts or running shorts accompanied by a sports bra, workout shirt, or tank top.

Just make sure that whatever you wear, you don't mind getting wet. You will be wet.

• For every class you'll need a yoga mat, two towels (one for the class and another for the shower,) and water. If you don't have any of those items, you can rent them at the studio but always feel free to bring your own. Typically, a complimentary mat is available for your very first class.

  1. You should not eat anything at least 2 - 4 hours before the start of class. If you take an early morning class and generally need to eat breakfast before you can function, you should eat an hour or so before...something light: maybe a banana. If you're not going to be awake that early, you might want to go to class on an empty stomach. If you’re taking a class in the afternoon or evening, drink plenty of water both the night before and over the course of the day (but stop drinking about an hour to an hour and a half before class so that you don't have to pee during class.)

Here’s what works best for me. Let’s say, I’m going to take a 5:30pm class:

My last full meal will be at 1:30pm (to allow four hours for digestion)

I will drink one liter of water between 2:30-3:30pm

I’ll drink a second liter of water between 3:30-4:30pm

I will stop drinking water one hour before the start of class (so that I do not have to use the bathroom in the middle of class)

• Be prepared to work hard and sweat during the 90 minutes. You aren’t expected to do every posture perfectly but you are expected remain in the room for the full 90 minutes.
